Why it matters

No Other Land is a documentary created by a collective of Palestinian and Israeli activists and filmmakers, including Basel Adra and Yuval Abraham. It tells the story of the systematic destruction of Palestinian communities in the South Hebron Hills, in the occupied West Bank, by the Israeli army and settlers.

Through raw footage, direct testimonies, and an intimate visual language, the film reveals years of demolitions, forced evictions, military violence, and nonviolent resistance. At its center is the story of Basel, a Palestinian journalist and activist, documenting the erasure of his own community under occupation.

No Other Land is also a story of solidarity—between those who suffer injustice and those who choose not to be complicit. Premiered at the 2024 Berlinale, where it won the Audience Award, the film achieved extraordinary international recognition, culminating in its victory at the 2025 Academy Awards for Best Documentary.

The film has become an uncomfortable but necessary voice—one that many have tried to censor or silence.
